Madina Market
I hated this market. Coming here meant a 5-hour ordeal of walking around with my grandma haggling with vendors. She came here about once a week and loved to drag my sister and I with her. “Mama Liz, we want to watch cartoons.” We often pleaded, but my grandma would ignore such requests to ditch the market and threaten to punish us if we keep complaining. I would always try to make the best of the situation, however. This was done by attempting to persuade grandma to buy video games and toys sold here. According to my grandma, this market is no longer as busy due to an increase in developments of modern supermarkets in Ghana.
